Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is now available for preorder via digital download. You can now buy Warhammer Online without ever leaving the comfort of your computer chair, just point, click and download. Warhammer Online will enter open beta on September 7th and the game will go live on September 18th. You can preorder the game and gain access to the open beta and the Headstart program that will allow players to start playing the live version of the game before the release date. The preorder also comes with claimable in-game items, including a portable camp to decrease your downtime between fights and a jewelry item with stat bonuses and a damage add proc that is useable only in the PvE environment. These items will be nice starting out, but I don't think they make that much difference in the game play. I downloaded the game the first day it was available and it took me about twenty-four hours to complete the process (not including update patches). This was during a high traffic time and it took quite a while just to get through to start the download process. This is why I would urge you to preorder your copy and get the download completed as soon as possible. I am sure the Internet will be humming with downloads on release day, but you know, the early bird gets to play first! Warhammer Online requires 15 gigs of hard drive space, a 2.5 GHz P4 processor or equivalent, a 128MB video card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 and 1GB RAM for Windows XP or 2GB RAM for Windows Vista. These specs are not particularly hard to come by these days and most gamers have this kind of machine or better. The game also has a video option setting for "Most Frames per Second" for those intense RvR battles so my experience with RvR was virtually lag free. Warhammer Online is a great MMORPG and can be yours in just a few clicks. WAR is coming! Be ready.
